Our Background

Hiya! Welcome to Evolve Canine, where I (Charlotte) provide owners with Dog Behaviour and Training Support, driven by my passion for Canine Welfare.

My fascination with behaviour was initially sparked after studying Psychology A-Level and being introduced to Learning Theory...

I then attended Askham Bryan University Centre (Course Accredited by Harper Adams University) where I studied and gained a Distinction in BSc Equine Science (Hons).

During my BSc studies I was captivated by the Behaviour and Welfare modules, honing in on this for my dissertation: “The Equestrian's Perception, Understanding and Application of Equine Learning Theory and its Implications on Equine Behaviour and Welfare”.

I then decided I wanted to become a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) so I could help owners understand their pet's behaviour, providing the highest standard of practice possible. I went on to complete an MSc Applied Animal Behaviour & Welfare, obtaining the knowledge and understanding required for CCAB status.

I also currently work in a boarding kennels where we only interact with the dogs on a 1-1 basis, allowing me to have gained a breadth of knowledge and experience with a huge variety of both popular and more rare breeds of dog.

I am committed to evidence-based practices supported by scientific research, prioritising the emotional welfare of dogs. I believe in using positive reinforcement training methods to promote a harmonious relationship between you and your dog and achieve longevity of good behaviours.

I take a holistic approach to understanding your dog's behaviour and routine, ensuring that training or behaviour modification is tailored to your individual canine companion.

As a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (Pre-Certified with CCAB Ltd) and Candidate Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC), I am proud to adhere to high ethical standards and code of practice whilst working toward Full Certification. This also means that I maintain a high level of Continued Professional Development (CPD) to keep up to date with recent scientific research on behaviour modification methods, cognitive and emotional advances.

In my spare time I love walks with my Working Cocker Spaniel Oakley, and we both particularly enjoy gundog training  and agility!
